Roboflow and OpenCV Partner to Advance Computer Vision Capabilities for All Developers
OpenCV has been a key part of advancing computer vision capabilities for developers for over 20 years. The Open Source Computer Vision Library on Github has over 50,000 stars, 42,000 forks and nearly 30,000 commits.
At Roboflow, we deeply respect the work of the OpenCV community, and we've identified a number of mutual goals to advancing developers' abilities to apply computer vision through educational content and software. We're proud to introduce a partnership between our organizations to make it even easier for developers to use computer vision.
As a part of our joint partnership, Roboflow and OpenCV create educational blogs, webinars, and courses together. Roboflow is also an official Silver Sponsor of OpenCV, ensuring the library will continue to adapt and grow.
Notably, OpenCV has recently launched hardware devices in partnership with Luxonis: the OpenCV AI Kit (OAK). OAK has attracted over $2 million in investment on Kickstarter, inspiring developers far and wide to start new vision projects.
In the past years of our partnership, we have:
- Integrated OpenCV functions such as perspective transformation and dominant colour identification into Roboflow Workflows, a low-code computer vision application builder.
- Developed an integration with CVAT, allowing Roboflow models to be used to assist in the image labeling process.
- Hosted several Webinars on topics such as model deployment, common mistakes to avoid when building vision projects, and more.
- Developed a course on how to use OpenCV with Roboflow and the OAK camera range.
We are excited to continue building integrations with OpenCV, enabling developers to integrate OpenCV tools into complex, deep learning-powered workflows faster than ever.
